YOUTH PLATFORM
GHANA@ 50
Let’s Know The National Anthem
1. God bless our homeland Ghana,
And make our nation great and strong,
Bold to defend for ever
The cause of Freedom and of Right;
Fill our hearts with true humility,
Make us cherish fearless honesty,
And help all our will and might for evermore.
2. Hail to they name, O Ghana,
To thee we make our solemn vow;
Steadfast to build together
And nation strong in unity;
With our gifts of mind;
Whether right or day, in mist or storm,
In every need, whate’er the call may be,
To serve thee, Ghana, now and evermore.
3. Raise high the flag of Ghana,
And one with Africa advance;
Black Star of hope and honour,
To all who thirst for liberty;
Where the banner of Ghana freely flies;
May the way to freedom truly lie;
Arise, Arise, O Sons of Ghana land.
And under God, march on for evermore.
(Composed by: PHILIP GBEHO)
… And The National Pledge
I promise on my honour
To be faithful and loyal
To Ghana my Motherland.
I pledge myself to the service of Ghana
With all my strength and with all my heart
I promise to hold in high esteem;
Our Heritage won for us.
Through the blood and toil of our fathers
And I pledge myself in all things
To uphold and defend the good name of Ghana,
So, help me God.
Poem… Poem.. Poem.
Ghana @ 50 And Our Past
Ghana is my motherland.
My Creator purposely placed me here,
Yet I’m nursed and nurtured by outsiders,
yet I’m a Ghanaian.
No more cheats
Ghana is Fifty.
Ghana is now a mature mother.
No more cheats!
Who like the weather changes suddenly.
Seek power with sweet words
Yet rule with stern sword.
Live on the fruits of the masses,
Yet promise to feed the masses.
Come from the weary crowd
To wear the crown of weal.
Come for applause with
Appalling conscience.
Ghana’s needs
Ghana needs minds
To muse and mull on
Issues and not on people.
Ghana is Fifty.
Ghana needs hearts to feel hurt by
Hellish poverty, destructive diseases,
And oodles of ignorance among us.
Ghana is Fifty.
Ghana needs souls
To solve our troubles.
Ghana Fifty.
Ghana needs strengths
To struggle against the shackles of slavery.
