Prez Mills Congratulates Obrempong Ababio

This was when Nii Ashitey led a government delegation to express best wishes of Professor Mills to Obrempong Ababio V, who recently celebrated his 90th birthday.
The delegation also included Accra Mayor, Alfred Nii Lamptey Vanderpuije and Nii Tackie Kommey, the Member of Parliament for the area.
President Mills in a message congratulated Obrempong Nii Ababio, on his 90th birthday and his sense of wisdom which had enabled him to peacefully steer affairs in james Town traditional area.
Drinks and gifts were presented on his behalf to Obrempong Ababio.
Mrs. Zetha Annan, a consultant psychologist and eldest daughter of Obrempong Ababio thanked President Mills for the honour done her father and also the people of James Town.
Nii Ababio praised President Mills for the number of infrastructural projects being undertaken in Accra.
He mentioned the rehabilitation of roads, provision of classroom blocks and planned extension of rail service to support his point.
Nii Odoi I prayed for strength and wisdom for Professor Mills to enable him fulfill all his promises to Ghanaians.
Nii Ashitey earlier appealed to Obrempong Ababio to work together with other Ga chiefs to help resolve the many chieftaincy disputes in the region to ensure accelerated development.
Known in private life as Ezekiel Quarmina Allotey Cofie, Obrempong Ababio fondly called “Dentist Cofie” was born in June 1920.
He studied Dental Surgery in Edinburgh University. Obrempong Ababio ascended the james Town Stool in 1978. He has therefore reigned for 33 years.
