The Vice-President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, has advised African-Americans to take the lead in Marketing Africa as a Continent of peace and abundant resources.
 
He said there was the need for them to learn more about the decent and rich African Cultural values to enable them share their experiences with others outside the continent to market the Continent better.
 
The Vice-President gave the advice when he granted audience to the members of the United States Department Junior Ambassadors at the Castle, Osu in Accra.
 
The group is in the country to learn about indigenous Ghanaian Culture and tourism.   The group’s trip was facilitated by the Diasporan African Forum, an NGO.
 
The Vice President said Africans, no matter where they resided, were the same people. He described the visit of the group as a privilege and stressed that such a programme should be instituted as an annual event.
 
The Founding Chairman of the Diasporan African Forum, Dr. Erieka Bennett, said educative and media programmes had been developed by the group to foster development.
 
She said the African Union had embraced the forum and thanked the Vice-President and the Ghana government for their role in promoting cordial relations between Africans and Americans.
