Sampahman gets new chief

A new chief has been enstooled at Dome Sampahman near Amasaman in Ga West Municipality in the Greater Accra Region on Saturday.
Nii Sampah Kojo XI, known in private life as Thomas T.O. Sampah, a marketing clerk, swore an oath of allegiance to Nii Sackey Akomea VI Adanse Mantse, before taking office as the new chief.
In his acceptance speech, the new chief urged all his subjects to contribute to the development of the area.
He said for the sake of development, he has registered all the lands under the jurisdiction, and also ensure that the lands are used to the ultimate benefit of the people.
Nii Kojo said he would see to the development of education in the village by providing facilities like schools and libraries in the village.
Nii Kojo said he will liaise with the district assemblies to extend the youth employment programme to the village so that the youths who will not want to go into farming can benefit from other professions provided under the youth employment modules.
